Violet (they/them/theirs) is a Summer Law Intern and is passionate about advocating for gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights.

Prior to law school, Violet spent several years working as an immigration paralegal, and developed a passion for advocating for survivors of gender-based violence, harassment and persecution through working with asylum and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) applicants. Violet previously interned at an immigration law firm dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community, and at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. As a law student, Violet volunteers with Identity Documents Project, where they assist transgender, gender non-conforming and intersex individuals in updating their name and gender on identity documents.

Violet is entering their second year at NYU School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College, where they majored in English.
